The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a government program that launched in late 2023 to make essential dental care more accessible for Canadians.
It covers a wide range of services, from cleanings and fillings to extractions and dentures, but it’s important to know:
You’ll still have to pay a portion out of pocket at most visits.
That’s where we come in. At Yaletown Dental Boutique, we help you understand what’s covered, what’s not, and exactly what your visit will cost before you even sit in the chair.
Worried about co-pays? Don’t be. We walk you through everything in you need to know — no surprises, no confusion.

The plan includes a variety of essential dental services

You may qualify if:
If you’re not sure about your status, we’re happy to help walk you through the basics when you call.

Once you’re approved, give us a call and we’ll handle the rest.

Apply online through the federal portal
Submit the required paperwork (be accurate to avoid delays!)
Wait for your approval and start date
The CDCP doesn’t work like a regular dental insurance plan. It follows a national fee guide, and how much you pay depends on your household income:
You’ll also pay more for procedures involving back teeth or multiple surfaces. For example, a front tooth filling may cost less than a molar filling — we’ll break it down clearly for you.

The CDCP doesn’t cover cosmetic or elective treatments like Invisalign®, but we know that straightening your smile can still be an important goal.
If you’re interested in Invisalign®, we offer flexible payment plans to help spread out the cost and make it more manageable.
Our team can walk you through options and build a plan that works for your smile — and your budget.

We’re not just a dental clinic — we’re your partner in care. Here’s how we help CDCP patients feel confident and supported:
We explain your coverage and co-pay clearly — in plain language
We follow the official fee guide, with no hidden fees
We support patients of all ages, from kids to seniors
We offer a full range of covered treatments
We make care feel comfortable, personal, and pressure-free
CDCP-approved or not, everyone’s welcome. Call or book online and we’ll take care of the details.

Not quite. Most treatments come with a co-pay, and some services (like implants or cosmetic treatments) aren’t covered at all.
No — the plan is only for people without private dental coverage.
Yes! CDCP is open to all age groups as long as you meet the income and eligibility requirements.
Absolutely. We’ll go over it with you before your visit, so you know exactly what to expect.
Treatment under the Canadian Dental Care Plan is not fully covered. A co-payment will apply.
